Seriously?

I was looking through a Los Angeles real estate "magazine" the other day– you know, the kind that's not really a magazine, but is just all these obscenely huge houses that are millions of dollars.  Now, don't get me wrong– I'm not saying I wouldn't buy a really expensive house if the circumstances were conducive, but people, come on– I'm talking about $8 million for a penthouse APARTMENT that overlooks the ocean. Um, for 8 million dollars, I guarantee you I will not be in close proximity to ANYONE.  For 8 million, I better own the whole BLOCK, dude.    The other thing I found super hilarious about this magazine was the fact that they feature these rentals that look totally normal, until you look at the monthly rent.  It's like, you're going along all normal– 4 bedroom beach house, fine, fine, furnished, ok, great access to the beach, fantastic— all for the low low price of $125,000 per month.

Yes, that's right.  $125,000 per month.  I have only two guesses of who pays that much PER MONTH, FOR A RENTAL, and doesn't just buy a house like a sensible person.

First guess?   Drug money.  That would be a great way to launder over a hundred grand per month, right?  I'm just saying.  I suppose if it's $125,000 worth of DRUG MONEY we're talking about, then it's actually reasonable.

Second guess goes to:  one of those idiots who wins $10 million in the lottery, and then is broke in two years because they rented a beach house for $125,000/ month, gave money to all of their buddies, and then, oh my God!  was driving around with $2 million in a briefcase in a Lamborghini they paid cash for, and can you believe someone stole it?   Idiot money would be another reason to live it up at the beach for $125,000/ month.   I keep saying that figure so you can get your head around just HOW MUCH MONEY THAT IS FOR THIRTY DAYS.

Watch, I'm totally going to get a comment from a super high-end real estate broker, like "you just don't understand the luxury lifestyle!  Wah wah wah!"

  1. Maybe they’re really only looking for Brittany and Lindsay to reply?
Heck if they just rent ONE month to them (before they go crazy and have to move again) at $125K it’s worth the advertising.
