Weird Baby Names: the Facebook Thread
Maybe you know I am keeping a running list of the weirdest/ most hilarious baby names I have ever heard. In fact, I think I invented a baby shower game where people troll the depths of their minds to remember the absolute weirdest name they’ve ever heard on a real person, and someone always comes up with a name like “Groovy Nipples Schwartzman.”
Anyhow, my friend is having twins, and the other day she told me that her older children had submitted a list of names for them. Some of the choices included “Magic” and “Rainbow,” and I thought this was just so, so funny, I had to ask the rest of my Facebook friends if they had ever encountered a similar situation with their children. Here is the amazing thread that resulted. This took awhile to post because I had to take five screenshots and then PhotoShop everyone’s names out of it (because I respect their privacy, yo!). In case you are going to give me a hard time, YES, I know that some of the comments repeat, and NO, I am not bothered by that. It was simply all the PhotoShop time I had allocated, and once I realized it wasn’t perfect, there was no time to go back. Deal with it.
I think you’ll agree, some of the names are simple absurdist perfection. In fact, I kind of feel like the naming of the sibling should become a more regular thing. That way, if the kid turns out to be a hooligan, you’ll know exactly who to blame. AM I RIGHT?
