Screen Shot 2013-06-01 at 10.31.35 AMI don't know if I ever mentioned this, but Stephan and I actually made the Public Radio Name Generator.  It's a fun website where you can put in your regular name and it will give you the name you should use if you ever become a reporter on NPR.  I'm mentioning this now because I just had a conversation at BEA with someone from NPR– she said that they actually all know about it and have run their own names through it, and that they were wondering who made it.

Here is a piece that WBEZ in Chicago did about it, where the reporter ran her name as well as the names of everyone in her family through it with hilarious results.  Muck Rack even has a page about it, and occassionally an NPR reporter (like Peter Segal) will put their own name through it, then Tweet about that.  The thing I think is funniest about this is the name combos– each and every one of them is funny, and I give 1000% of the credit for that to Stephan Cox.  I think this is a slam dunk for him in terms of funny, personally.
