Hey, did you know I have famous and successful friends? I like talking about them. I talked about Brittany Geragotelis last month, and a few weeks ago I interviewed Rose Abdoo and people seemed to like that, so today I will tell you about ANOTHER successful person that I know– Brooke Meyenberg of Little Retreats.
If you watched the Today show this morning and you know Brooke, you probably caught her props in the first segment (when the woman throws the pool party for her kids and has a photo booth there). In case you didn't see it (or you're not Facebook friends with me, because I also posted it there), here it is:

Brooke's stuff is in the first segment, the piece about the photo booth at the kids' party, and hers are the photo booth props like mustaches and glasses. In fact, here is a photo of some of the awesome stuff she sells.
Brooke happens to be an exceptionally nice person and very crafty (which is something I decidedly am not), so I'm happy to throw some attention her way and congratulate her on her stuff being on the Today Show. That is so awesome!
You might be wondering (I was)– how exactly does one start a business making "Mustache on a Stick"? Here's their mission statement, in case you're curious:
Little Retreats– handmade with cool peeps in mind. It’s our mission to bring the party to your party with hundreds of customizable photo props and party décor offerings. Our photo props are elegant enough for a black tie gala, yet hip enough to kick it at your next backyard BBQ soirée. Without a doubt our props will have your guests interacting and engaged, making your next event the talk of the town. (And who wouldn’t want a lasting photo of grandma sporting a mustache?!)
Located in Maple Valley, WA, owner Brooke Meyenberg and her staff work hard each day to produce only the very best designs and products for clients all over the world.
Basically, Brooke is crafty, and she started this Etsy business on the side while she was working full-time, then she was like, crafting it up while she was on maternity leave, and her husband (my husband's friend) encouraged her to make mustaches and clown noses and glasses, and she worked really hard, and NOW HER STUFF IS BEING FEATURED ON THE TODAY SHOW.
So, in case you were feeling sad today (like I kind of was over a couple of things, including some bad news about friends, a sore throat, a Facebook debate gone wrong, and an unfriending), there is a nice story to cheer you up, about a good person working hard and becoming successful. Go over and look at some "Mustache on a Stick," why don't you?
Oh, and just for the record– big shout out for Marriage Equality! Do the right thing, Supreme Court! Don't be on the wrong side of history!
