So, a month or so ago, people started telling Stephan that they saw him in Whole Foods. Stephan is often mistaken for Jeremy Piven, that French guy Jean Reno from The Professional, or perhaps another handsome Hollywood type (I like him), but we were like "no way, can't be."
But then, we went into a Whole Foods, and saw this banner. It's very, very big. Just to be funny I took a picture of him below his Whole Foods banner. Of course, this being Los Angeles, no one noticed or cared about this one bit, kind of like if you appear in a newspaper or magazine here, and you go to the newsstand to buy copies, and you show the newsstand guy, and he rolls his eyes, like "whatever." Angelenos are so over everything.
Here's the photo. We thought it was funny, especially since the ad is for 5-htp, which is a supplement that is supposed to raise serotonin, and which we both started taking about a few weeks ago. It seems to be working, or perhaps it magically made his face appear on this sign. Who knows?
What's also funny is that this photo is actually from a stock photography/ modeling shoot that Stephan did about four years ago, the photographs of which were supposed to be used in Sweden, but have now ended up in Whole Foods all over the United States. Who knows how these things happen. I have also done some stock photography shoots in my day, and in fact my claim to fame as a supermodel is that I was on the "Jungle Cruise Happy Meal" box for McDonald's, and a video game, the name of which I cannot remember. I think I was also in an ad in "Q" magazine in Germany, but I couldn't tell you what I was supposed to be selling. To answer your next question, no, I was not even close to naked in the Q magazine photo shoot, in case you're going to dig it up. I have never, NEVER been naked in a photo or a video. I grew up in the 80's, ok? I had the world's most overprotective mother (ask my friends from high school– I was practically under house arrest). Never gonna happen. Perhaps this is why my modeling career never took off, despite the fact that I am almost 5'7 and had totally flattering photos like this one. I am saying both of these things to be funny, of course, because that is like, at least 2 inches too short, and this photo is so eighties it makes you cringe a little inside.
A long time ago, Rachel commented on Facebook that she hoped I was 12 in this photo, because that's how old I look. In fact, I am 18 in this delightful, acid-wash jean jacket, "fan being used to blow my hair back" photo, and believe it or not, this photo got me an agent and several jobs.
If you notice Stephan's smiling face in your Whole Foods, totally send us a picture! We are starting a collection. We found him in a brochure in Palo Alto, this big sign in Santa Monica, and then this one at our local Whole Foods in Brentwood. Stephan is sweeping the nation!
Oh, and if you'd like to book me for a stock photography shoot in which I play someone's mom, I am all for that. I am starting an album.
