As I predicted, I have been scolded by a Game of Thrones nerd, who thinks I’m not getting it because Game of Thrones is a show that you can’t watch while you’re doing something else.
This is a fair point, although to be honest, if I didn’t watch tv while working on websites, I would never watch tv at all, because tv is usually pretty boring and I need something to entertain me while I’m being entertained, ok? Writing code/ putting together websites/ doing top-secret SEO stuff is how I keep my hands entertained while I pay attention to the tv with the other part of my brain, so I don’t see that happening anytime soon.
Also, to the commenter, I don’t even know who you are talking about when you say they stayed true to “Martin’s” story. MARTIN WHO? I seriously don’t understand this show, and I don’t think it’s going to help if I give it my full attention, sorry.
Speaking of scold-worthy things, Stephan Cox has released an extremely funny animated video today, so I think we should focus on that rather than my pathetic Game of Thrones knowledge.
Let’s watch, shall we?
As you can see, this stems from our reaction to hearing that Avril Lavigne was engaged to that dude from Nickelback, forming an unholy alliance of crappy music for all eternity. Here are two people who THINK they are good musicians, and their record sales tell them they are right. However, have you ever LISTENED to their music? Terrible. God awful, both of them. If they have a baby, that would be like, the opposite of when Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf had tennis superbabies or when the Chinese government made Yao Ming's parents marry each other so they could produce a basketball superbaby (and IT WORKED). A baby from these two would be positively Justin Bieber-esque in the amount of commonplace, derivative treacle he or she would be able to produce, with his or her parents’ money and their collective lack of talent and yet questionably big egos.
Rachel Butera (from the Howard Stern show!) did a great job on Avril Lavigne’s voice, and of course Stephan’s impression of Chad from Nickelback (especially the singing about what he had for lunch) makes me laugh every single time.
