Today I’m going to throw a shout-out to another cool
project, That Voiceover Podcast. If you
have friends or relatives who have a voiceover dream, you definitely should
send them over there to listen to the numerous interviews with successful voiceover
people. I happen to be biased, but I
think Stephan is a great interviewer (that used to be his job, did you know?),
and that project is one we’re particularly proud of because a ton of people
still go there every month to listen to the interviews and read the
information.
I’m calling your attention to it now, actually, because
Stephan just did an awesome interview with our friend Rose Abdoo, and it is now up on that site for your listening pleasure. You might know Rose as “Gwen from Parenthood,”
and here she is, on set with Monica Potter.
I actually wrote a whole article about her that I will link to tomorrow,
but for now, please go over there and listen to Rose’s interview. It is very inspirational—in case you didn’t
know, Rose is a cancer survivor herself, and that experience helped her with
her character on Parenthood this season.
By the way, if you don’t watch Parenthood, get on that right
now. I think it is one of the best shows
on tv, and I cried my face off during the season finale. If you loved Friday Night Lights, you must
absolutely watch Parenthood. It has
some of the same producers and writers, they use the same realistic/ improv
style, and you get just as involved with the characters. I have to say, I got so into the storyline
this season, I forgot I even know Rose and just rooted for her character.
Oh, and in case you think you don’t know Rose because you don't watch Parenthood, you’re
wrong. She’s everywhere, dude—look at
her IMDB listing. She’s on Bunheads, she’s
in a Hallmark movie, she's on Shameless, she's on the Mentalist, she’s on upcoming episodes of Psych and Baby Daddy, she’s
in the movie “The Guilt Trip,” she’s in a bunch of other stuff I can’t even remember. And, once you hear this amazing inspirational
story of how she survived six rounds of chemo and a bacterial blood infection
and was hospitalized twice, every time you see her on tv, you are also going to
yell “YAY ROSE!”
So, stay tuned for the article tomorrow, and go over and
listen to the interview today. You
really can’t have enough Rose, in my opinion.
