Today I am gone all day, attending the funeral of my good
friend’s father. Tomorrow would have
been my (deceased) mother’s 70th birthday, so I’m sure the next
couple of days is going to be a regular dance party around here. Wheeee! Aren't you so glad I volunteered to do 365 days of posts?
The only thing I can think of to write about today that doesn't directly involve dead people is this
photo I snapped while on vacation in California. It is a lovely scene, I’m sure you can
agree, and I think the sky looks especially cool. The only real question is—why, in
the window, do they have a sign advertising that they have the ‘Largest Selection of Magazines
in Monterey County!”? Shouldn’t they
really be drawing attention to their large selection of booze? I can’t imagine that having a ton of magazines
makes them that much money. Or, is there
something about a large magazine selection that I don’t know, like it’s really
a front for the mafia? Why would they want a bunch of drunks in there reading the magazines?
Quick! Someone say
something funny! I fear we are going to
veer off into the dark and morbid sometime very soon. Oh, and to top it off, my birthday is coming up on Saturday. It's a big one, and I am trying to stay positive.
