Dude!
In case you're wondering what I'm doing, I'm still rewriting/ editing, and I hope to have some very good news regarding "finished books" very soon. So, in case you haven't seen me much here or on social media, I'm trying my very, very hardest to concentrate on that and not distract myself by doing fun stuff. NO FUN FOR ME! MUST WRITE BOOKS! MUST FINISH BOOKS!
It's not that writing and promoting books isn't fun– it is. Actually, BEING DONE with books is fun. Sometimes the actual writing of the books feels like giving birth (or so I'm told), but it is darned awesome to say "Hey, I finished a book!"
Unrelatedly, are you guys watching New Girl? I think I’m going to declare this my favorite new show of the season, and not just because it sometimes seems like a documentary film on what it’s like to live with me.
Oh yes people—the singing, the Muppet-like dancing, the making up of weird phrases—this is what goes on in my household on a daily basis. In fact, before this show even came on, Stephan and I joked that we would need to write a dictionary for people to figure out all the inside jokes that we have going at one time, and then simultaneously that such a dictionary would need to immediately be destroyed because it might fall into the wrong hands and make us die from embarrassment.
Exhibit A, my friends:
I also wanted to say that I have recently been having problems with a few websites that are hosted on GoDaddy hosting, and I have to say two things about that:
- Don’t use GoDaddy for hosting, because
- If you do use GoDaddy for hosting and something goes terribly, terribly wrong like one of your clients gets hacked by weird Russian hackers and you have to keep rebuilding their site over and over again, not only is this frustrating and expensive for the client, who will then be mad, but also? GoDaddy recently changed their hold music from that one “Squirrel Nut Zippers” CD from 1997 which they had as their hold music for nine years to an insidious mix of instrumental music that runs the gamut from “jazzy” to a little piano I would describe as “aggressive plunky” and that makes me imagine that I am trapped in Hell, and that this is certainly the music that is playing. Is that wrong?
So, that's about it….writing, editing, cleaning up after hacking, listening to overly cheerful, "Swenson's in Hell" piano music, more writing, more rebuilding, repeat, repeat, repeat, REPEAT.
More updates soon!
