Photo (21) This blog doesn’t have to be all “Funny” and “Strange,” right?  Sometimes I guess it can just be about things I'm doing, and because I'm me, the Funny Strange will end up in there somewhere.   Oh, all right– just for you, I put on a penguin hat to add to my "weird hats" collection.

Last weekend we went on a trip to Mystic, Connecticut, mostly because I love really big fish and I wanted to see the only white beluga whales on the east coast.

One of those whales looked like this:

Doesn’t he look so stoned?  He’s like “Hey man, what could be wrong?  I swim around in here and get free food, and people take my picture. So awesome, dude!”

Or maybe he's smiling because it's the middle of summer, but (like the honeybadger) white beluga whale don't give a shit– he's submerged in water!   Look at his happy face!

The rest of the animals were similarly spoiled and happy looking, including these two "yin and yang" type sea lions, who I swear volunteered to live in captivity together because they are BFFs:

Imaginary dialog:  “Do you love me as much as I love you?  Because we are BFFs, and I am so happy we live here together….can you scooch over a little bit?”

Also, I touched a shark and a stingray, and got some birds to sit on my finger, so overall it was an awesome experience.   Oh, and the town of Mystic, Connecticut is every bit as adorable as you’d think it would be—so cute, in fact, I wanted to put it in my pocket and take it home with me.

Oh—yes, we went to Mystic Pizza (just for beers), and in case you’re wondering, the restaurant came before the movie.  Everyone there (in fact, everyone in the entire town) was SUPER NICE, though, so I give this vacation destination an A+.

Next weekend:  dad's birthday in Kentucky!   I'm sure I will return with many amazing pictures of me with things on my head.
