TurkeyPerhaps you are wondering where I have been.  That's fair!   My only defense is that last week, which is when I should have been getting back from break and cleaning out my scary inbox and catching up on client work and updating this blog, my in-laws and I all ended up with food poisoning from turkey sandwiches (I am now considering becoming a vegan even if it means people make fun of me and tell me to move to Brooklyn), so that threw me for a loop and made it so I was even more behind when I actually got back to the east coast.   I did not throw up and instead got a fever that lasted for three days, in case you are a food poisoning enthusiast.

Here are some highlights of things that happened while I was away from Funny Strange!

I wrote an article for the Huffington Post about my obsession with Angry Birds and how I was starting to learn actual life lessons from playing it so much.

My new novel "The Dirt" got reviewed by Good Choice Reading and Live to Read— they liked it!  They really liked it!

Seriously though, I am glad that people are liking that novel, because I actually thought it was destined to just live on my hard drive as a file that made me scowl every single time I saw it because of all the work I put into it.  Thanks again to Katherine at Booktrope for making that happen!

I also have done two guest blog posts for book blogs that will be coming up soon, so I will let you know about that right away.

Also, I did quite alot of writing in my notebook over Christmas break, about how Mila Kunis is now too attractive to be believable in a film, advertisements I think are absurd, and my scintillating thoughts about celebrity gossip.  I was totally planning on transcribing these last week, but then the turkey sandwich intervened.    Seriously– can anyone tell me about some non-meat protein sources?   I am not kidding about that vegan thing.  I already don't eat dairy, so how hard could it be?  Do you think I will turn into Alicia Silverstone and start hugging animals and trees and insisting that you say VEG-an when you speak of me?  I am going to have a hard time giving up leather shoes and handbags, people.

Finally, yes, tomorrow is my birthday.  Have you noticed that excitement about birthdays seems to be inversely proportional to the amount of years being celebrated?   I am taking the day off to see a movie and get a pedicure, and possibly even eat a cupcake.  So, that will be exciting.

More to come soon, I promise.   I did just want to come over and say "I'm here!  I'm alive!  Don't eat turkey sandwiches!"
