Express Emergency: An Update
A couple of days ago I posted this post, wondering aloud what this specific emergency vehicle is for. You have to love social media– the stepfather of one of my Facebook friends informed me that this is actually a "private emergency service," not connected to the city at all.
This kind of made my mind grind to a halt. Private emergency service? What on earth? What circumstance are you in where an emergency happens and instead of calling 911 like a normal person, you're Googling "private emergency services"? WHO THINKS THAT IN AN EMERGENCY? What are you, in an episode of Sons of Anarchy, where you're like: "No cops"?
I'm sorry– "private emergency service" sounds like something you would call if you "happened" to "find" a dead prostitute in your hotel room, but now that I know it's a private company, that is totally what I think. Who knows? They could just be handling emergency overflow from the city, and they probably have to document everything. I just think the concept of "private 911" is super shady and hilarious, so there you have it.
