so…..busy……
I know, people saying they’re "so busy" is really such a tired excuse for not updating your blog, but DUDE! The month of August has just blown up on me, old-school style. I should’ve known it was going to be like this when the very first thing that happened last week was that the final copyedit of a manuscript, which was supposed to have arrived overnight from New York, got DELAYED AT THE AIRPORT IN CANADA for four days. Yeah. Mechanical failure. So, while I was supposed to be working, my manuscript was sitting on a plane, and I was sweating it. And, when it finally got here, I still pretty much had to make the original deadline.
So– all at once, right after the earthquake, I got hit with two other big deadlines (in addition to the one that was delayed on the plane), each of which I’ve been chipping away on a little every day. Thursday we got the call to come and pick up the new Prius, so of course that’s what we did all day Friday (because, you know, even after you wait on a list for seven weeks, it still takes EIGHT HOURS to actually buy a car). Then I got a raging sinus headache as part of a cold I was ignoring, but I had to work all weekend anyway, so I literally gritted my teeth tried not to bend my head over too far, lest my sinuses explode and keep me from fulfilling my work commitments.
So, to recap: it’s August 5th, and already that’s three big deadlines, a new car, a headache, regular work, charity work, this blog, and Funny Strange. One of them had to suffer, and unfortunately, it was this.
Now, though, things seem to be falling into place. The headache went away on Monday morning, which left me with a new lease on life. I’m done with the "mechanical delay" deadline, on track with the two others, and we are IN LOVE with the Prius. Tune in tomorrow for a podcast where we discuss all of the above, and much much more!
Oh, also– I have been collecting funny photographs, including a photo of a snowglobe I’m pretty sure is filled with urine. I just haven’t had time to post anything. No time!
There’s a Prius waiting list?? Dude, you should totally just get a scooter like I did. I spend about $20 a month in gas, get to cut through traffic, and have fun while driving.
